Vein desease, in particular varicose veins and spider veins, are among the most common deseases of modern civilisation. More than 20% of the population suffers from visible venous disturbances.
The spectrum reaches from solely cosmetic disorders like spider veins, various stages of varicose veins and up to and including up to leg ulcers (ulcus cruris).
Therapies have improved significantly over recent years and allow for individual treatment of every specific vein problem.
Prof. Dr. med. Markus Enzler and Dr. med Hilde Berwarth Blum are surgeons and renowned specialists with profound knowledge in diagnostics and treatment of varicose veins. Modern, minimal invasive therapeutic methods (like the radiofrequency ablation method ClosureFast or endovenous laser therapy) are applied. These methods allow an almost painless and ambulatory treatment under local anaesthesia. However, where indicated, the conventional operation method (surgical treatment, stripping) will be carried out. Spider veins will be treated with foam sclerotherapy.
The Helsana health insurance group has decided to team up with Prod. Dr. med. Enzler. As a first Swiss health insurer they cover the costs of the endovenous method of the radiofrequency ablation method ClosureFast, carried out by the Venenzentrum am See.
